It is what it says January 8, 2008 KrazyLevin (St. Vincent, West Indies) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife and we haven't put it down since. So far we've seen the moon as if we were so close we could touch it and even though it took us some time to get use to the computer generated map of space, and to figure out where leo was so we could find Saturn it was fun looking for it. Now that we've located saturn we hope to see Mars and some more planets as the year goes by. I find it annoying though that some of these people who review these products give them bad ratings because they are either too lazy to actually work toward the desired outcome or they are just plain stupid...anyway, this product is good to go.
Perfect for any young astronomer! July 31, 2008 E.L. (New York, USA) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
I purchased this telescope this past December as a Christmas present for my 10 year old sister. She had always wanted a telescope so she could sit on the grass at night, staring at the stars. As she is in no way looking to become an astronomer, and we knew the telescope would be nothing more than a novelty for her, I was searching for something inexpensive, yet sturdy. In the past the telescopes she has received were purchased for around fifty dollars at a toy store, only to be opened up and found not to work and to fall apart within a few days. After doing some research online this telescope seemed to be the best option - as the price and reviews all screamed positive!
I placed my order and received the product within 7 days, on standard shipping. After my sister opened up the package we tested it out, and it worked great. The features on it are limited, but that's perfect for an amateur astronomer. We get a clear view of the skies, and since December it's been taken out at least once a week for some fun entertainment.
We've used the CD that came with it to pull up a map of the skies, and have tried to find some specific objects. While it did take some time, we did find some planets and constellations. We are not space enthusiasts however, and just looking through the eyepiece is enough enjoyment for us.
I'd recommend this product for anyone who just wants to see the stars and moons and planets at night! As long as you aren't looking to...measure star sizes, discover a new planet, or find aliens floating around up there, I can safely say that you won't be disappointed.

At the price this is an absolute steal. I own several telescopes. The optics in this 60mm "spy glass" telescope are really superb for viewing the moon.
All telescopes in this price range suffer from wimpy tripods and this one is no exception.
This is a great buy.

Awesome telescope October 12, 2008 B. Mcconnell (Mifflinburg, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this telescope for my daughter's birthday. This is an awesome telescope, especially for a first telescope. The seller I went through had a great price. The telescope is touchy, but if you can deal with that, it is a great buy.
